The creative sector accounts for 13 percent of the city’s total economic output. In total, one out of every eight dollars of economic activity in the city – $110 billion in 2017 – can be traced directly or indirectly. More than 239,000 are employed in this sector as well, but when it comes to advocating for 150,000 segment of this economy that identifies as cultural workers there are limitations on their voices.
